Our Stone County Awards Funding to Eight Local Organizations
$17,160 will go toward projects that strengthen community in the county
STONE COUNTY, Mo. — Our Stone County is proud to announce recipients of its most recent round of community mini-grants. Eight county organizations will receive a combined $17,160 for projects that create gathering spaces for people to spend time together, enhance parks and gathering areas, and improve public safety and water resources.
Through a competitive grant process, these community groups were selected to receive funding for projects that reflect the organization’s mission of ensuring that “Stone County remains a place people are proud to call home for generations.”
This year’s grant recipients include:
4 Ozark Seniors, Timeout 4 Seniors: Community coffee bar and gathering space where seniors can connect through coffee socials, games, puzzles, and fellowship opportunities.
First Southern Baptist Church of Kimberling City, Children and Youth Playground Area and Nature Trail: Improvements to the playground and nature trail area, including picnic spaces, mulch, topsoil, and accessibility and safety enhancements.
H2Ozarks, Septic System Pump Out Rebates: Incentives for homeowners to maintain septic systems through regular pump-outs, helping protect waterways and natural resources throughout the region.
Kimberling Area Library Association, Outdoor Gathering Space Accessibility Upgrade: ADA-compliant outdoor benches for the library’s Children’s Sound Garden, and future StoryWalk + Move path, increasing accessibility and comfort for visitors.
Kimberling City, The Mayfly Project: Outdoor educational outings for foster children in Stone County, including meals, supplies, sunscreen, bug spray, and educational materials.
Pathway Project Coalition of the Ozarks, Pathways Summer Stitch & Stay Safe Workshops: Summer workshop series that combines beginner-friendly crochet instruction and social media safety education.
Reeds Spring Schools, Wolf Pack Park Oak Tree Additions: Five new Chinkapin oak trees at Wolf Pack Park, enhancing the beauty and environmental benefits of the park for the community.
Southern Stone County Firefighters Auxiliary, Summer Safety Starts at Home, Smoke Detector Distribution: Smoke detectors and fire safety education for local families.
