Bringing Stone County Together: Coalition Kickoff Luncheon

On March 31, Our Stone County gathered over lunch for the coalition kickoff meeting.

Community members from across Stone County who helped shape our initial scoping process last spring came together to discuss community priorities and planning steps, and welcome new members. The energy in the room was full of hope and a shared excitement for what's ahead.

Here is the big takeaway: Stone County people LOVE where they live. The lake. The hills. The small-town feel. The neighbors who show up. This is home this coalition can protect and strengthen it.

Our Stone County’s priorities are:

🏠  Support Access to Affordable Housing

Many families, workers, and older residents can't find adequate housing in the communities where they work and want to live. Stone County needs more housing options.

💧  Improve Water Quality and Conservation

Aging water systems, fragmented providers, and the Table Rock Lake watershed need to be addressed for future generations. Everyone in Stone County deserves clean and reliable water.

🏡  Create Community Gathering Spaces

More parks, trails, recreation areas, and shared spaces are where neighbors of all ages can come together, connect, and build community. Stone County needs more welcoming places for people to spend time together.
